The Great John F. Kennedy:

DJohn Fitzgerald "Jack" Kennedy was born on May 29, 1917 was the 35th President of the United States. He is also known by his initials JFK. He was the second-youngest President born in the 20th century. He was the youngest person elected to the office and that was at the age of 43. Kennedy is the first and only Catholic president, and he is also famous as he is the only president to have won a Pulitzer Prize.

He was born in Brookline, Massachusetts and got his early education from there. He graduated from Choate in June 1935.

In September 1936 he enrolled as a freshman at Harvard College. During his college years he produced that year's annual Freshman Smoker, which included in its cast outstanding personalities of the radio, screen and sports world. He was interested in football, golf, and swimming. He earned a space on the varsity swim team.

He graduated cum laude from Harvard with a degree in international affairs in June 1940. His father encouraged him to publish his thesis as a book and his thesis was published in July 1940 as a book entitled Why England Slept, and became a bestseller.

In the spring of 1941, Kennedy volunteered for the U.S. Army, but he was rejected because of his troublesome and upsetting back. However, in September that year, he was selected by U.S Navy.

Due to his services during the Pearl Harbor Attack he was awarded Navy and Marine Corps Medal.

Kennedy was also awarded for his services in World War II with the medals of Purple Heart, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal.

After that Kennedy decided to serve the country by choosing Politics, when in 1946 U.S. Representative James Michael Curley vacated his seat to become mayor of Boston, Kennedy applied for the seat, beating his Republican opponent by a large margin.

On January 2, 1960, Kennedy officially declared his objective to run for President of the United States. On Tuesday, November 8, Kennedy defeated Nixon in one of the closest presidential elections of the twentieth century. In the national popular vote Kennedy had a lead on Nixon by just two-tenths of one percent, that is, 49.7% to 49.5%. In the Electoral College Kennedy won 303 votes to Nixon's 219. 269 votes were needed to win.

He worked for people’s good with his full heart. He faced some personal and health problems as well but he remained steady to help the troubled people of the state. He encouraged them to believe in their marvelous history. Events during his time include

His Domestic policy included
